The BC engine renders to integer multiples of the original resolution (enhanced games) or the original resolution integer upscaled (non enhanced games), including any black. This is also the case on games from other platforms of the era. It was remastered for the PS4 and Xbox One. Most OG Xbox games and lots of early 360 games expected overscan and didn't render to a full 480i/p or 720p. However, since it hasn’t actually been remastered or enhanced in any way, the visuals may seem a bit dated to some, which is fair considering the graphics are now more than a decade old.īurnout Paradise, which was originally released for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC, also recently made a comeback. Director of Programming for Xbox Live, Larry Hryb, recently announced via Twitter that Burnout Revenge is the next classic Xbox / Xbox 360 title to join the Xbox One Backward Compatibility catalog. It’s similar to its older cult classic brother, Burnout 3: Takedown, which featured the same vehicular chaos. It was originally released for the PS2 and Xbox in 2005, as well as on the Xbox 360 in 2006. I’m sure many gamers have had nostalgic memories of ramming cars into blazing pulps of crashing heaps in the Burnout games of yesteryear.
